As I mentioned in Man-Crush: Adam Levine, today’s post is written by guest blogger Heather, from Seasoned with Sarcasm. In her own words - “If Martha Stewart made a baby with a beer swilling, sailor cussing, country loving man, I’d be the product of that union.”
She writes entertaining posts with recipes, crafts, and DIY tips for all kinds of fun and useful things. I once tried making her recipe for Bacon Vodka, but I kept downing both of the key ingredients. She also has posts about her adventures in raising chickens. I keep waiting for a coq au vin recipe, but so far they’ve only provided eggs. I’m down with that. At least she hasn’t named them, so there’s hope for the future. Definitely go check out her site!

Let’s face it – today we girls have lots of celebrity girls out there to crush on. Not just for their looks either – we aren’t THAT superficial! These women are strong, funny, talented – and not afraid to eat a cheeseburger. Over the years, my celebrity girl crushes have changed like the tides…but lately they’ve had more staying power. I’m not at all embarrassed to say I’ve got a crush on some lady folks. I guess it’s less taboo for ladies to dig other ladies. I’m not INTO girls…but I’ve got me some mega crushes on the fairer sex and don’t even try to hide it. I’ve sat with friends over drinks and discussed who our fave girl crushes are, and why. The hubs even knows that when this lady is on, we are watching her movie, commercial, video clip…whatever!

Ah, Zooey Deschanel. Those big eyes. That sweet personality. The goofy roles. I look at her and think, damn, I wanna be her BFF. We’d have so much fun! I want to go have lunch with her, do some shopping, then sip some cocktails at a karaoke bar where SHE is the one belting out some 80′s tunes. I really dig her. Especially in (500) Days of Summer. And as Belladonna in Your Highness. I loved her in The Tin Man Series as DG. And let’s not forget, she sings too! Not just in the movie Elf either. She & Him is a cute little group of Zoey (she) & M. Ward (him) doing catchy little numbers that get your feet tapping. I particularly love this song – and can see myself in the near future redoing the dance moves in my living room:

And let’s not skip over this little duet with the dapper looking Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Sigh. My heart melts. Swoon. Sigh.

Thank you for the opportunity to guest post
And just and FYI – I did name SOME of the chickens. Just the rooster, and 3 of the 7 hens. So the no name foursome could possibly be a dinner in the future. But probably not.
I have always been conflicted about Zooey. I really try to find her attractive, really, but I can never quite get there. There is a certain allure, for sure, but….
She’s no Sofia Vergara, but there’s something about the combo of pale skin, dark hair and her eyes. Seems fun…
You spoke my mind! She just does not work for me…
Kind of like Julianne Moore—I don’t get it….
whoa whoa whoa….. Julianne Moore I definitely get and it’s not just the red hair. Exhibit A – Chloe – with Amanda Seyfried and Liam Neeson. Exhibit B – The Kids are Alright.
See, I would have said the red hair, too! But I there is something more to her. She exudes this colder hotness I appreciate.
I’m with you. I remember being intrigued by her in Almost Famous. I totally dig her, but the attraction just isn’t there. Penelope Cruz is more my style.
Penelope…. giddy-up!
I’m always surprised when people don’t adore her. You could chart my crush – the lows being points when it seemed like she’d gone from quirky and adorable to playing the part of the quirky adorable actress – but she does enough interesting stuff (like that Tin Man mini-series – how interesting was that?) to keep me believing it isn’t just her agent/the studio saying “We’re going to market you as quirky and adorable! A Jessica Simpson for the indie crowd!”
My thoughts exactly. I LOVED the Tin Man series – I’ve watched it multiple times. She was a fabulous DG. She’s just adorable!
Never heard of Tin Man – def gotta find it and watch while there’s no Walking Dead. Sounds pretty cool.
It was a mini series they had on the Syfy channel. Loved it. Do you have Netflix? They’ve got it on their streaming right now.

On a side – non Zooey related note – I also like Alice on Syfy. Great twists on the classics!
Got Netflix! Will check out both
I think you’ll all enjoy this

I’ve always been a Zooey fan! Loved her as the kookie roommate in Failure to Launch. Never heard of Tin Man – will have to check it out!
I love her voice, that’s the thing that gets me. She was awesome in elf and 500 days too. I’ll admit that her naive antics in the New Girl were a little irritating at first, but she seems to have backed down from overplaying that so much
