Bringing Back the 90s – Boy Bands

It’s that time again.  Back in Spring, I made it my mission is to be the man credited with bringing back the 90s.  To do that, I pledged to take you on a stroll down memory lane on the last Friday of each month for the rest of the year.  Here’s what you missed so far:

April – Yes, I went Hootie on you.

May – Acoustic guitars, life changers

June – Ten (yes TEN) memorable 1990s movie songs

July – The Decade in Sports

August – The Economy

September – Gangstas and Grungers

October – Presidential Politics

Why?  For the MONEY!  I’m sure there’s going to be money involved with bringing on this fad.  God, I hope there is.  Because, honestly, I don’t have that much of a hard-on for the decade.  Speaking of hard-ons…

N Sync (

Grunge and gangsta rap were my favorite musical developments of the 90s.   But not everyone listened to it.  In fact, I remember people talking about how both were garbage. A lot of people were listening to Mariah Carey, Hootie & The Blowfish, and Whitney Houston.  I already posted a Hootie vid and there’s no way in Hades am I posting the other two.   So let’s bring back another pop music phenomenon form the 90s – Boy Bands!   Here are the big ones from the 90s:

–       Backstreet Boys – and you guys already know how I feel about them

– Take That

Boyz II Men (

–       98 Degrees

What’s that you say?  Boy bands are already back?  Let’s see..

Yup, I guess my work here is done.

Ah, I remember all of these 90s boy bands well. My memories are quite fond, but I listened to a wide variety of music then.

I saw *NSYNC live 4 different times. In 4 different cities. Should I not say that out loud?
Also, although they straddled the 80s/90s, NKOTB is still the best.

Why doesn’t that surprise me? The question is – Whose ur fave amongst the new ones? Answer wisely…

I don’t really like the new ones. I take that back. I don’t really know the new ones. I guess from the radio play The Wanted. They seem older. And dirtier.

Haha… Honestly don’t know either. I don’t think you can go to jail with those guys.
