Damn, Friday already? I wish I had a good excuse to post a rerun. Heck, I’d take a lousy excuse to post a rerun. But the fact of the matter is that I was just too lazy. At least I have the decency to re-run a really good one!
If you’re interested in what we ate in Vegas, check out my recap.

I’m going to Vegas tonight on a somewhat last–minute trip with the bro. I’m sure there’s going to be some really good food involved, but I can’t guarantee I’m going to remember any of it. I do know that it’s going to be significantly better than Arby’s.
Right after we booked the flight, I hopped in the car to do some errands and this song came on the radio:
movies
I had no idea who Chantal Kreviazuk was and the origins of the accent had me stumped, so I did a little Googling. It turns out that the accent is from exotic Canada… Is that right? Maybe she’s French Canadian or something like that and was born in Quebec – wtf? Winnipeg? OK, maybe her parents were fresh off the boat from eastern Europe… Nope, she’s only half Ukrainian, with the other parts being Scottish and First Nations. OK, that little research project into her accent was a complete waste of time.
Anyway, it’s a really a great song and I love her voice. And its use in the movie “Armageddon” automatically qualifies it for Guilty Pleasure status. Because that movie sucked. Big time.
But no, that one’s not this week’s Guilty Pleasure. I was almost going to choose the Peter, Paul and Mary version, which is probably the most popular one. And I was all set to justify that as being Guilty because of how I remembered Mary Travers as being horrendously ugly. But a funny thing happened when I was searching for pictures. I saw pics from her younger days and she kinda looked like the lovely Emma Stone.

Even though Peter and Paul were plenty ugly, it just wasn’t the same. So I had to go back to the person who wrote the song, John Denver. With his pudding bowl haircut and wire-rimmed glasses, he was a dead ringer for cousin Oliver from The Brady Bunch.

Mark my words – John Denver will never disappoint as a Guilty Pleasure.

Happy Friday!
By golly, she *does* resemble Emma Stone. Wow.
Hope you have a fun trip, minus a tiger in your bathroom.
The post is a rerun from last year. But, as expected, I didn’t remember a whole lot.
Oh, then, change “have” to “had”!

Are you really going to pretend that you didn’t cry at the end of Armageddon?
