A couple weeks ago I introduced the concept of Summer Resolutions to the family, and I’m proud to say that The Pieholes are still rocking the resolutions. Mini-me has taken every opportunity he could to hop on his bike and log additional miles. One of the girls has been actively taking as many pictures as she can in and around the house. And the other girl…Oh yeah, it’s time to tell you what she chose to do this summer.
She’s decided to start her OWN site – http://minihedonist.tumblr.com

Yes the mango doesn’t fall far from the tree.
This is the twin that’s in theater and is into all kinds of self-expression, but I didn’t think this was something she’d want to do. We had talked about both of the girls doing a guest post about a crappy Mexican restaurant we went to in Arizona, but the weeks went by and… nothing. So I was a little surprised when she not only chose to do a blog, but already had the name and framework done.
You know what else surprised me? Her liberal use of the word “sh!t.” I’d say that SOMEONE is going to get a talking to but, again, mangoes.
Besides vaguely questionable language, you’ll find some other similarities with this blog. There’s a lot of different stuff there – food, music, theater, links to her YouTube channel, restaurants, photog… Whoa, whoa, whoa.
I don’t recall giving permission to have a YouTube channel. Screw the mangoes, someone is definitlely going to get a talking to.
Anyway, I’m proud of her for putting herself out there. Hopefully, she’ll keep this up after school starts (ahem, assuming homework’s done). I think it’s a great hobby and that’ll help develop her writing style, photography skills, and cooking.
At very least, I can steal some content from her for this blog.
Speaking of stealing content, she posted a video of from her final middle school choir concert. She and some friends put together an a cappella group that arranged and performed a completely AMAZEBALLS version of Lorde’s Royals. You can skip to the singing at 2:00 or be like me – nod your head occasionally as she talks a million miles an hour about stuff you have no clue about.

Go check out her site! And yes, she also got her good looks from me…

This is so cool! Great minds.
Haha, thx!
Adorable, and very artsy! I’m following, though honestly I hardly ever go to tumblr. My daughter tells me I’m too old for it. I think it’s great that you’re motivating your kids to develop hobbies. We teach them the importance of education, work and love, but hobbies are right up there, and can last a lifetime.
Yeah, I don’t really like tumblr, but I’ve subscribed too… Definitely agree on the importance of hobbies!
Love! Congrats mini-hedonist and keep up the great work! I laughed because some phrases really do sound like you. As for the swearing, well, teens will be teens. I often remind my son that despite what he thinks it’s “really not that cool,” but admittedly, I’m quite certain I was swearing as a teen. Part of that whole self-expression package–it starts early :).
She’s actually not as bad as others I’ve seen on Instagram comments.. oof
Thanks, man, for making my life that much harder. When my daughter gets a hold of this, I’m going to catch hell for being the lamest dad ever. So thanks, FWH. Thanks a lot. (But the minihedonist rocks!)
While I think you’re super cool, they probably already think you’re lame.. I’m guessing Brad Pitt’s kids think he’s lame, too.
Wow – she’s really talented!
Thanks!
She’s a cutie!
You work from home, right? How do you get anything done?
Thanks! I love working from home… I actually get more done in less time because I don’t have to look presentable and there’s no commute. Tho it does take some discipline to not watch Netflix all day…
“Mango doesn’t fall far from the tree” – awesome line!
Great site too – congrats to your daughter aka mini-hedonist. She is one super talented girl!
