Exercise Music: Fighting Evolution with Calvin Harris

It seems that there are more and more out there who don’t believe in the Theory of Evolution.  I’m curious whether this is indeed a growing movement or it’s that, with Facebook, YouTube, and other social media we’re just hearing more about it.    It’s not a group of scientists that are driving the discussion because they’ve found a competing theory.  This refuting of Evolution is mainly by Evangelical Christians who take a more literal approach to reading The Bible.

I have Evangelical friends and some in my family.  I’m in awe of their strength of faith and will NEVER deny them their beliefs.  However, questioning parts of it is certainly good as part of a healthy discussion.  And the first thing I would question is the how they thought this movie would be a good thing –

The bigger question is – how bad is Nicolas Cage in debt to agree to star in it?

I can actually point to one proof of Evolution pretty easily.  It’s “survival of the fittest,” right?   All creatures have to have different adapting mechanisms in order to make it through life.   Many creatures have markings and stuff to camouflage themselves so that they aren’t eaten by bigger creatures.  Or at least eaten by hungry hipsters.

One of the coping mechanisms for humans happens every Autumn, as the weather transitions from hot to cold.  Every year at this time I find that my clothes start to fit a little tighter.  It’s because my body is packing on some fat to help keep warm in winter.  Even though I eat the same amount and exercise harder, the fat just keeps coming because my body knows what’s coming.   There’s no denying it.  It’s science-ish.

But I’m still going to put up a good fight, dammit!

On Sunday, we’re going to see Calvin Harris and Zedd in downtown Detroit.  As I’ve mentioned before, NOTHING gets me moving like EDM (Electronic Dance Music).  So I’m pretty sure I’m going to burn about 8000 calories at this concert. I’m excited for the Pieholes to see their first EDM show, and these two are giants in the genre who’ve seen huge mainstream success.  I’ve already featured a couple other Calvin Harris videos in previous posts. (Here and here)

Here are a few more I’m sure you’ve heard before –

Sweet Nothing (feat. Florence Welch)

I Need Your Love (feat. Ellie Goulding)

*

We Found Love (feat Rihanna)

*

And here’s a couple from Zedd

Clarity (feat. Foxes)

*

Stay the Night (feat Hayley Williams)

It’s going to be an awesome show!

Do you pack on pounds in winter? What’s got you moving these days?

Definitely put on the winter blubber layer. Wish I could just hibernate through the whole thing.

Poor Cage, he always gets picked on…I, for one, happen to be a fan of National Treasure, haha.

Definitely pack on the pounds in winter because our home is always just filled with things to snack on. However, it never gets too bad, just a pound or two.

I’m generally a fan of his, but no way I’m seeing this one. Saw several reviewers gave it exactly ZERO stars.
