leave your inhibitions at the door
It’s Super Bowl time! Last year, I dubbed the festivities as the National Filipino League as it featured Bruno Mars and Seattle Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin. While Baldwin’s back as his team faces the New England Patriots, Bruno is not. But I’m not bummed.
That’s because this year’s halftime show has one of my favorite performers – Katy Perry!
I’ve always been a big fan of her music…
It was also announced that the there will be a special guest appearance by Lenny Kravitz…
…although I’m not as much of a fan.
It’s not because of looks, because Lenny’s a damn good-looking guy. It’s just that he’s made a thousand songs that all sound like Jimi Hendrix. It was cool the first couple times but, c’mon, give me something new.
Besides… Katy Perry!
As far as the actual game’s concerned, it should be a great matchup. Both teams were the #1 seed in their respective conferences so that should make for an interesting game. But then again, the Broncos were favored to win last year and got shellacked…
Peyton still hasn’t called me for fashion advice.
The big controversy this year is that the league is investigating whether the Patriots used underinflated footballs in their last game. The thought is that they purposely did it so that quarterback Tom Brady could throw the ball more easily in the cold weather. It’s been all over the news the past couple of weeks and is now known as “Deflate-gate.”
I have some strong opinions on the topic, but I want to avoid using the words “deflate” and “Katy Perry” in the same post.
I seriously doubt that it helped Tom Brady at all. In full disclosure, I’m a big Tom Brady fan. But not so big a fan that I can look beyond his supermodel wife, Gisele Bundchen, recording this …
My predictions for the game – Patriots will win and I’m going to be sorely disappointed in the lack of wardrobe malfunctions.
Here are some of my favorite Katy Perry songs…
Waking up in Vegas
And my absolute favorite, Teenage Dream:
What’s your favorite Katy Perry song? Who do you think is going to win the game?
