The Hedonist was born in the Philippines, lived most of his life in the Chicago area, and currently lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  He started this blog in July 2011 because… because… OK, he has no clue why he started this blog.  He has no formal writing training or experience but is eager to point out that neither does 95% of the people in the blogosphere.  His main qualification for writing about food is that he’s eaten at least once a day for as long as he can remember.  He does have formal sommelier training, though, so he does know more than most people about beverages.  His other major passion is music – as a listener, recreational musician, occasional musical theater performer – and insists on writing about it, although it has nothing to with the name of this blog.  He’s married to a gorgeous blonde named Boom Boom and is trying to make sure that his three kids have his same love for life, food, drink (when they’re old enough), and music.  If all else fails, he’ll settle for them having the same sick, twisted sense of humor.

The Sicilian is a professional business writer and recreational food blogger living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She has no training as a professional chef, but has taken beginning and advanced French basics-type cooking classes. Most of her adult life was spent in the San Francisco Bay Area, which greatly influenced her views on food and wine. The Sicilian is married with two kids and a senile cat, and her favorite genres of cooking are rustic Italian and Southeast Asian. She has never won a chili cook-off or competed in a Betty Crocker cooking contest.
